As we get older, the attractive poutiness of lips is progressively replaced by a stern and worn appearance since our lips are made up of a delicate tissue which is affected by facial fat loss. The loss of volume can also lead to deeper lip wrinkles and a constricted lip appearance. In some people, the changing balance of lips can even create a “toothless” look as the lower lips get thinner and the upper lips begin to sag.
Signs of aging lips
Who doesn't want to have fuller, more voluptuous lips? Unfortunately, as we age we lose collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, which leads to thinner, less attractive lips.
Another side effect of aging is the skin between our upper lip and nose sags, which can lead us to show less teeth when we smile and are at rest.
